In parallel with her career in fine arts, Claudia Apaid is actively engaged in developmental projects in the Caribbean with a special focus on Haiti. For 15 years now as founder and CEO for Sow A Seed, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that aims to support orphanages, centers and underserved children with sustainable solutions in areas of shelter, health, education and arts, Apaid remains steadfast in her commitment to not only providing the essentials to Haiti’s children but also instilling hope for a better future through positive and creative channels.
She has volunteered her time in many projects within the organization, especially with Healing Hearts, a program dedicated to cultivating Haiti’s children and their healing process through expressive art forms like dance, drama, writing, music, and painting. Serving as creative director for initiatives under this program, Apaid has collaborated with renowned and burgeoning artists in bridging the creative gap while forging a communal connection and sense of unity between children, families and neighbors through murals, recreational parks, school art projects.
